Why am I running?

Honestly, I’ve been trying to come up with some clever slogan or catchphrase - but at the end of the day, my why is pretty simple.

It’s them. It’s the students across all of our schools.

I’m running because I want to ensure that our schools are safe spaces to explore identities, foster relationships, question the status quo, expand worldviews and build confidence.

I’m running because I want students and teachers of all walks of life and abilities to be able to access our schools in ways that accommodate their needs physically, academically, emotionally and socially.

I’m running because I want students, parents, teachers, administrators, and constituents in our community to feel like their voices are not just being heard, but being validated and acted upon.

I’m running because I want to be part of finding solutions to get outside more, and establish meaningful learning opportunities that highlight how to be stewards of the Earth.

But, at the end of the day, I’m running for them.
